Henry Hartman had an natural flare for drawing and was moved almost immediately upon arrival at art school to painting classes. His artistic mentor, Mortimer Wilson, Jr., carried his illustrations to the level of fine art paintings.Working for Wilson gave him an outstanding background in paintng. Later in Hartman's career, he wss active in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania (Bucks County) art gallery scene.
